I had just arrived in Singapore on a mission to discover new ways to use my zwave and zwaveWave devices.
The first thing I noticed was that I was not getting a response when calling a friend to ask for directions.
Then the phone rang and the operator asked for my location.
When I answered the phone I was greeted by a strange voice.
“It’s Zwave, a brand of smart home devices.”
I was a little confused.
It was unclear to me whether this was a legitimate brand, or just an advertisement.
I turned to my friend and explained to her that I didn’t really like the name Zwave.
She said that Zwave was a brand she used to own.
We then asked if I could use my phone to check on a number on Zwave’s website.
My friend and I both knew the answer was no.
The answer came from the owner of Zwave: “We just can’t talk to you about that.”
“But if we don’t, it’s going to happen.”
I was aghast.
How could someone say this?
We tried to explain that we didn’t want to bother anyone, but we had a phone.
They then went on to say that they had received an email from a customer who had a different problem.
A week later I got an email with a contact number and the number to call.
At the time, I was very skeptical of their claims.
But it turned out that the number was actually a Zwave number, so I was in luck.
What followed was an epic and emotional conversation.
Our conversation was long, with a lot of questions that I couldn’t answer.
Then I received an automated email saying that the issue was fixed.
For weeks after that I kept asking them about this and getting no answer.
I finally received an answer: They were sending me a “technical support” email.
As it turns out, Zwave has been sending technical support to Zwave customers since March of this year.
Zwave’s spokesperson told me that they have been working on fixing the issue since the beginning of this month.
And what does this mean?
Well, if you are a ZWave customer, you have until February 18th to file a complaint against Zwave for their use of a deceptive name and advertising, or the company will suspend its business relationship.
If you are not a ZWAN customer, ZWave has a process for filing complaints.
You can find a list of all the complaints here.
Please take note that ZWAVESTO has a policy of “follow the law.”
If ZWAMOVADE’s claims are true, this could be a huge problem for ZWave and Zwave products.
This is why it’s important to be vigilant about the use of these smart home gadgets and devices.
If you have any questions or concerns about ZWave, you can reach Zwave directly at [email protected] and they will be happy to help.
